WHAT ABOUT A RESUME?

If you were selling a product that you manufactured, would you send out shoddy, careless samples to prospective buyers? WHAT IS A RESUME?

From the Greek word resume, it literally means to begin again; to take up where you left off. Are you ready to begin again and move forward toward your next best job?    

Basic Resume Tips

• Stick to one page; you’ll want to give them important information, but it is not necessary to say it all. Sell the rest in the interview.

• MAKE YOUR NAME REALLY BIG (not a time to be shy, and what is it that you want them to remember?)

• Put all your best attributes, accomplishments, and dazzlers at the beginning! WOW them in 7 seconds.

• Stick to what you can do, not where you worked.

• NEVER, EVER lie or fabricate on any experience, education or other verifiable fact either on the resume or in person at the interview.

• Have someone proofread your resume before copying & distributing.  A typo or misspelled word is like showing up to an interview with only one shoe.  BAD!

• It is okay to have more than one resume to represent a specific job field and strategy.

• Write it yourself!  It is okay to get help, but if you have someone else write it, you’ll be the first to be surprised when an interviewer asks you about a specific entry.
